Privacy Policy

Apprentices ("we," "our," or "the app") is a discipleship tool designed for Christian small group communities. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Summary
- We collect the minimum data needed for the app to function.
- Your personal reflections and journal entries are stored locally on your device.
- We do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any way.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
- We do not use AI or machine learning to analyze your content.
- You can delete all your data at any time from within the app.
Data We Collect
Account Information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique identifier and your display name (which you choose). We do not receive or store your email address unless Apple provides it and you choose to share it. Your Apple ID credentials are managed entirely by Apple.
Group Data. When you create or join a group, the following data is synced to our server so group members can see it: group name, meeting schedule, gathering records, workshop session summaries (member name and topic only), commitments, prayer request summaries, and accountability partner assignments.
Local-Only Data. The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent to our server: journal entries, personal reflections, mid-week check-in notes, and any data you choose not to share with your group.
How We Use Your Data
- Group coordination. Shared data (commitments, prayer requests, gathering records) is synced between group members so your community can support one another between gatherings.
- App functionality. Your data powers features like commitment tracking, workshop rotation, and gathering history.
We do not use your data for any other purpose. We do not build profiles, run analytics, serve advertisements, or train machine learning models on your content.
Data Storage and Security
Local data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework on your device. Synced data is stored on a secure server. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's Keychain, which is protected by Apple's hardware-level security. All network communication uses HTTPS encryption.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Sign in with Apple — for authentication. Apple's privacy policy applies to their handling of your Apple ID.
- Supabase — for Scripture data storage only. No personal data is sent to Supabase.
We do not integrate with any analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or social media services.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your data at any time:
- Selective deletion: Delete journal entries, commitments, or captures individually from the Privacy & Data screen in the app.
- Full deletion: Use "Delete All Data & Sign Out" to permanently erase all local data, clear your authentication, and reset the app.
- Server deletion: If you wish to have your data removed from our server, contact us at support@apprentices.app and we will delete it within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Apprentices is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Location and Tracking
We do not collect location data. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites. We do not use device fingerprinting or any form of cross-app tracking.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify users through the app. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
